Lake Las Vegas is an upscale resort community centered on its artificial lake. The lake started taking shape nearly 30 years ago. Developers broke ground in 1987, began building its dam in 1988 and were diverting water from the Las Vegas Wash by 1990 to help fill the man-made lake. Now surrounded by Resorts, Spas, stores, and more!
With many activities you can participate in such as their inflatable waterpark, kayaking, paddle boarding, flyboarding, or boating. There are yachts available for rent, or electric Duffy boats that make you feel very European in a canopied easy-to-steer boat. You can even shoot yourself out of Lake Las Vegas on a flyboard, which is attached to a jet ski with a 55-foot hose that propels you right into the air.
The Luxury hotels that are in the area have bistros with lake views that feel as though you are in a charming, Italian-style village complex. You have the Mediterranean-style Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa, and the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa, designed to resemble a Moorish palace. You can go into either resort and enjoy the many spa treatments, dining, and events they hold year round. People often host events and parties at these resorts for birthdays, weddings, and more. Along with being right along the lakefront the Westin Resort also has Two pools, the upper pool has a nice view of the lake and a bar which gives it a more adult feel. The lower pool is mainly for kids and is three feet at its deepest point, has a water slide, volleyball net and a basketball hoop. There is also a grocery store on site if you forget anything or want to grab a snack on the go!
Reflection Bay Golf Club has a palm-lined, waterside course designed by renowned golfer Jack Nicklaus. This course is open to the public and has a 360 view of water and mountains. Once you're finished with golfing the clubhouse and golf shop are the place to be. They have their own white sand beach and even hold a concert series on their floating stage.
Hiking trails lead into the rugged desert hills nearby. Henderson, the city in which Lake Las Vegas technically sits, has over 184 miles of trails, and the biggest trail system in Nevada! You can find a map of all the trails and walk to some of the trailheads right from the resort area. There’s a 27-mile paved loop that circles the resort; a shorter Village Loop, and a trailhead to Henderson’s trail system.
With all the things to do around Lake Las Vegas the houses in and around the area are just as spectacular with all the family fun things to do, as well as the sophisticated adult options the lake has to offer!
